Water Ionizer Face-Off #2: Enagic $3800. Ionizer vs. Jupiter Melody Water Ionizers
Posted by Alkaline Water Plus on 30th Sep 2010
Today I compared the Jupiter Melody water ionizer against the Enagic LeveLuk SD 501 water ionizer!
What great water ionizer comparison results I got… and I’m sharing these results here in this article. I am somewhat surprised that the Jupiter Melody water ionizer compares so well, although I have tested the Melody water ionizer against the Enagic Kangen machine before and got good water ionizer comparative results then. It is a nice surprise all over again that these two very popular water ionizers compare this closely, because of the extreme price difference. Below, the results show it was nearly a tie. Level 3 drinking level of ionized water was particularly tied. You could barely get that close even if you tested a water ionizer against itself. The acidic water capabilities of the Enagic are better, but there is chemical added which in my eyes is not needed [The Enagic is able to get a stronger acidic water partially due to the solution that is added during the strong acid setting.] Personally, I don’t see anything too shabby about the 3.0 pH the Melody was able to get all by itself without the chemical. Anything under 4 pH kills germs…it just kills them faster the lower the pH. All-in-all I am very impressed with the Melody water ionizer while at the same time not unimpressed with the Enagic Kangen machine. What I’ve found with my water ionizer testing is that several water ionizers will give you these great results…and I’m thankful that they do!
Both water ionizers are well-made and function without difficulty. Both waters are pleasant tasting, although the filtration of the Jupiter water ionizers is far superior to the out-of-date Enagic’s filtration. The Jupiter Melody water ionizer also has a better system of self-cleaning in that it reverses polarity every time you turn the water on [versus every so many liters]. This is why the Melody water ionizer stays so squeaky-clean year after year. I’ve seen a 5-year-old Melody beat a brand new KYK water ionizer one time in a test series being conducted by the KYK main importer at the time. Both of the water ionizers use fine, highest quality materials and have exceptional customer service [although the warranty for the Melody is far superior …with a lifetime warranty on parts]. And…
The Melody Water Ionizer
I’ve included the 2-part video here so you can see the tests yourself, verify the results are recorded correctly and verify that I had the water flow rate the same for both water ionizers. I also included pictures showing that the pH meter was callibrated ahead of time and the St. Louis tap water was 9.3 pH and +203 ORP just prior to the testing. I’ve also constructed a chart showing all the levels of water ionizer comparison, below the videos.
10/26/10 Faster FlowEnagic/Melody-3 | Enagic Kangen Water | Jupiter Melody |
Level 1pH/ORP/rH*/Rating |
10.2 / -155 / 18.9 Tied |
10.0 / -90 / 20.3 Tied Maybe a little better…because the pH is more drinkable for level 1 |
