I happened to have several water ionizers that were set up for demonstrating and comparing over the holidays, I did this video of the demonstration to add to the general knowledge about water ionizers. The video was too large to post on You Tube, so had to be split into three parts. Below the videos you can see a chart showing the results of this testing. As always, this is one series of tests. You should view several comparisons to get a complete picture of the efficacy of any one, single water ionizer.

Which Ionizer Did the Best in the Testing?

The results were so varied [most all were good, though] I had to rely on a comparison formula [above] …starting with the best [Athena/Tyent – Tied, Nexus/Melody/Enagic – Tied, Well-Blue, H2Go]. Remember, this is just one set of tests.

All of these water ionizers did great in this testing!

With water ionizers there is more to compare than pH and ORP. I have briefly given additional data that isn’t shown in the video, but helps to understand a more holistic comparison of these water ionizers.

Quality of Construction

Filtration

According to the listed filter-media and assuming the customer selects the best quality filter for that water ionizer. The water ionizer with the best filters is the Athena. Next would be in this order: Melody, Tyent, Nexus, Enagic, AlkaStream, WellBlue Pitcher and H2Go.

Flow-rate:

Fastest Flow-Rate: Enagic; Medium: Tyent, Athena, Melody, Nexus; Slowest Flow-Rate:  Well-Blue Pitcher [which is gravity-fed]

Cleaning of Plates

[only applicable to electric ionizers]: Plate cleaning Efficiency is a good prediction of the longevity of an electric water ionizer’s efficiency and usefulness. All of the electric water ionizers in this comparison have good [or better] plate-cleaning, by the way. If scale forms on a water ionizer’s plates it will lose the abiltiy to ionize as well as it did when new. If you have a water ionizer whose pH/ORP has dropped from when it was brand new this is most likely the reason.
